Taking a short break from painting my Chaos Cultist gangers I decided to build and paint one of the newest Necromund Goliath models recently released from Forge World. I chose the Goliath Champion with renderizer. Of course he isn't armed with just the largest mechanised tooth bladed weapon I have ever seen, which is securely held in his bionic left hand. No, he also has a combi-pistol with flamer held pointed at his enemy in his right hand and slung over his right shoulder, for that all important extra firepower when he needs it, he has a combi-bolter with a grenade launcher. The model was only a few parts and went together really easily although I kept the right arm separate to paint as a sub assembly. The pose is a little static but aside from this it is really well detailed and he is basically a one man army. He is painted in the usual red furnace plates as are the Goliaths of the GW website and the rest of my Goliath gang. I also went with the darker skin tone, matching the 'Easy Metal miniature on the Forge World website and, of course, a bright green mohawk. He is listed as a Champion but I think I'll be using him as the Leader of my gang. As I was rotating the miniature trying to determine which angle looked the best to photograph him from I finally decided on the angle n the image below, which when I checked back on the Forge World website was almost exactly the same angle they chose, obviously his best side.
