Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn

As I am currently reading the excellent Eisenhorn novels by Dan Abnet from the Black Library, I thought it was only fitting to paint the miniature of the man himself. The model was a Finecast miniature which was unfortunate and not the best place to start normally but this one in particular wasn't too bad considering, except for an air bubble pot mark on his forehead which was easy enough to fill with a little putty. He is armed with his trusted Bolt Pistol in his right hand and he carries a scroll case in his left. His Runestaff is carried on his back. He wears flowing robes and a long trench coat. The base is textured with a piece of ruin with the Inquisition symbol on it. I wasn't to sure about his pose as he seems to be leering forward quite a bit at a peculiar angle but checking the images on the Warhammer website this seemed to be normal. There was a lot of detail on this miniature and as being Finecast it wasn't that crisp, the most disappointing example was the Aquila belt buckle which was just the basic shape, no relief detail at all, which I would have had on a modern plastic miniature. As you know I'm not a big fan of Finecast but will preserve if the miniature is desirable enough to collect and paint. Eisnehorn, was of course, both and joins the very small but growing ranks of Black Library miniatures I have in my collection, and joins Serverina Raine in the painted miniature display cabinet.
