Month in Review: April 2021

What did I buy?

Like March April was a bit of a heavy hobby dollar spend. With a few miniatures and a new game added to my collection.

Showing the first part of my hobby spend for April. On the left you see the new game added to my collection. Not a totally new game by GW but a new Starter Set. I have never really been a fan of Warhammer Underworlds, ut always like the miniatures. This new boxset was a result of a few beers on a Saturday night. I bought the game and the expansion cards. I think the purchase was fuel by the fact that I had also ordered the Direchasm The Crimson Courts warband. This new warband was purchased purely to paint, although they may find a place in Warcry, but now I have the game they will opt course now also be used own Warhammer Underworlds. Also shown are the Darkoath q

Warqueen Marakarr Blood-sky, a miniature that hasn't been available for quite sometime, I had an email notification held on GW's website and when she came back into stock I couldn't help mayself but to purchase her. She will be used in a Slaves of Darkness Warcry warband. Gardus Steel Soul, AKA Ironman was purchased purely because I loved the miniature and he just needed to be added to my collection..

I also picked up the other two Warcry books, Harbingers of Destruction and Agents of Chaos (I also purchased the Bringers of Death too, but forgot to photograph it). So that's all the book for Warcry added to the collection. These book s will no doubt be the reason for me to purchase more Age of Sigma miniature to create interesting warbands across the various factions. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as I have really been enjoying painting fantasy miniatures over the last few weeks.

On a trip into London I happened to pass Forbidden Planet and I ventured in and had a look around. I saw that they had some copies of Mortal Realms partworks on the shelves I decided to pick up issues 12 and 37 after browsing through what they had available. These issues gave me a Stormcast Eternal Knights-Questor miniature, three Gryph-beasts and a bottle of Coelia Greenshade. All this for a mere £15.98. Bargain. These Moral Realm magazines are excellent for adding a few great value miniatures to your Age of Sigma collection. Next month's purchases will be pretty heavy too with the new releases for Necromunda, plus I still wish to pick up Sevens for Blood Bowl and much more. It never ends does it...

What Did I Paint?

During April I managed to paint a total of ten miniatures, including the Fomoroid Crusher, which has to be the largest miniature I have painted to date. I really enjoyed painting the Crusher despite the size and I'm thinking about adding another one to my collection, I'm also thinking about trying my hand at a larger miniature too. Perhaps a Chaos Gargant? I also completed the remaining seven miniatures for my The Unmade warband so I now have two completed warbands for Warcry. I also returned to Necromunda and painted Krotos Hark the Goliath Bounty Hunter from Forge World. The last miniature I painted was a bit random, being Gotfret De Montband from the Blackstone Escalation expansion. The reason that I painted him was for a friend to try him out in their Sisters of Battle Kill Team squad. The miniature was pretty quick to paint being mostly armour. Next month should see some Cawdor Gangers completed so watch out for those. Plus there may always be a surprise miniature painted and added to the site.

What did I play?

As the lockdown still hasn't completely lifted I still haven't had the chance to play any games. I believe my small gaming group have arranged a few games of Wargry later in May. However we did have a trial run on playing Cursed City online using Discord, but didn't actual get to play and actual scenario. Soon perhaps.
