Month in Review: August 2021

What did I buy?

it was another Necromunda release this month. This time it was for last of the original gangs, the House of Delaque. First there was the new supplement, House of Shadows. The book gives new rules for founding a Delque gang including skills, also some interesting hangers on and hired guns. Then there was another pack of new tactic cards and a different version of dice for the Delque. The gang expansion box set contains Nacht-Ghul, Psy-Gheists and Piscean Spektor. The Spector looking a lot like the Sentinels from The Matrix. A nice set of models except maybe the worms. Also released was the plastic Orlock Weapon & Upgrades. From Forge World came the model, Lady Credo.

Another purchase bundle this month were the exclusive models shown below which I purchased from the Warhammer store in Tottenham Court Road on Saturday 28th August which were available to celebrate the re opening of the store in their new premises. I arrived an hour early on the Saturday and joined a queue that already had at least 30 people patiently waiting for the doors to open at 10:00. Apparently the gamer at the front of the queue was there from 10:00pm the previous evening. I was glad I made the extra effort to get to the store on the first day as I was able to snatch up the hard to get hold of miniature, Holga Clovehorn which was the main reason I attended. But I thought it would have been rude not to add a few more exclusive miniatures to my growing collection.

What Did I Paint?

Five miniatures painted this month. Two more Goliath gangers, one armed with a two-handed axe from the Forge World Weapon Set, and another armed with a power hammer and flamer. This pair of weapons were also from the Forge World Weapon Pack. Then I took on my first commission which was a Skaven Boombardier, a fun miniature too paint. There was another Necromunda miniature finished, this one an Escher ganger armed with an autogun. She was assembled from the standard pieces that are included in the basic box set. The last miniature finished during the month of August was a Gouged Eye player from the Orc Blood Bowl team.

What did I play?

Unfortunately I had to cancel my only planned Necromunda game this month due to sickness. A real shame as I was really looking forward to getting a game in again and we were planning to play at The Mad Mood cafe. Now that restrictions have relaxed i'm sure the opportunities with increase and I will be playing soon..
