Month in Review: September 2021

What did I buy?

It wasn't a manic month for spending my hobby pounds. I picked up a copy on the first issue of Warhammer 40k Imperium, not for any other reason than at £2.99 it was a very good price for two Warhammer 40K models. I also picked up a box of the Necromantic Horror Blood Bowl Team, as I was looking for a few Halloween themed miniatures and this boxset seemed to have the best choices overall. Lastly to maintain my ever growing Necromunda collection I purchase the cool looking House Greim Military Attache miniatures from Forge World. That was really about it, which was pretty ok with me as last month was a bit of a heavy hobby spend.

What Did I Paint?

A total of six miniatures painted this month, inculding three more of the Gouged Eye Blood Bowl team. An Orc Lineman, an Orc Blitzer and a Black Orc Big'Un. That means I'm almost half way through getting my first Blood Bowl team painted and ready for the field, or closer if I pick up the rules and pitches for Blood Bowl Sevens. Returning back to the Underhive, I painted another Goliath ganger with Forge World resin weapons, arming him with a bolt pistol and a circular saw bladed maul. Staying with the Necromunda theme I finished yet another Forge World hired gun, it was Apollus Kage's turn to get a coat of paint. I really enjoyed painting this miniature as there was heaps of detail and I'm really pleased with how he turned out. Then taking a quick dip into the 8 Points I painted the Signifier from the Iron Golem warband for Warcry. Had great fun painting the icon on this miniature in various metallic paints and shades. Then I finished the month off with one of the Orlock Arms Masters from the Orlock expansion boxset for Necromunda. The picture of this miniature was shared by the Warhammer Community Twitter page and got a pleasing amount of likes and shares from other hobbyists. What's coming in October? Well some more necromunda I'm sure of that, perhaps some Halloween themed miniatures. Who really knows?

What did I play?

Still didn't get to play anything this month, it seems most of my time has been dedicated to the building and painting of my miniatures. It is, however, proving really difficult at the moment to sort out days when my hobby buddies can get together for a gaming session. Maybe October is the month, fingers crossed.
