Necromunda: Slate Merdena, Orlock Road Boss

I have had the blister of Slate Merdena in my collection from the day it was released several years ago, and now that Belladonna has been painted and I haven't any other of the Forge World Bounty Hunters on the painting desk I thought I would build him ready to be primed and painted in the near future. Being resin I first washed the parts in warm soapy water to remove any residue of release agent. Then I set to the task of assembling the miniature, or in fact the two miniatures as the blister pack also included Macula, Slate's trusted cyber mastiff. Slate went together easily, he was only three parts. These parts were his torso, his left arm holding a plasma pistol and his right right holding his close combat weapon, a power hammer. On the assembled model the power hammer is slung over his shoulder. He came with a 25mm base and I did think about upgrading him to a 32mm as the plastic Road Boss and Arms Masters use, but I thought I would keep him vanilla and super glued him to his claustrophobic 25mm base. Macula's assembly was a slightly different story, he was in 5 parts, his torso with front right and rear right legs sculpted on, his front and rear left legs were separate pieces as was his head and tail. These parts didn't go together that well and needed a little filling with plastic putty. Macula came with a 32mm base and only just fits on it (although his isn't glue on it yet as I wish to paint the detail underneath him first), with part of his front left and rear left paws slight overhanging its circumference. Now that the pair are assembled I can't wait for a suitable day to get them primed and start work on them as I am really enjoying painting my Forge World models at the moment.

Slate Merdene and his cyber mastiff Macula ready to be primed.
