Returning to the unforgiving depths of the Underhive, I finished painting Slate Merdena, the Orlock Road Boss from Forge World. Macula, his trusted Cyber Mastiff is still on the painting table but will hopefully be finished soon. He is painted virtually as he is in the image on the Forge World website, the handle of his power hammer is in a different colour and I didn't paint the small triangles on his tabard. Once he was completed I still wasn't sure about the size of the base as he does look like he is squeezing on to that 25mm base he is mounted on. The plastic road bosses are mounted on a 32mm bases which would have given Slate a little more breathing room. But I wanted to keep him vanilla so I will leave him on the base that was supplied originally. He was quite a basic paint job as there is a lot of metal on him and a lot of black clothing. I highlight the black jacket with a different highlighting colour to the black pants and boots for some variation. Slate is the thirteenth dramatis personae I have painted so far and they all look really cool in the display cabinet. Once Macula is finished I'm certain the pair will be a force to be reckoned with and I'm sure they will do very well in the forthcoming dramatis personae fight club, although it will depend on the player that is controlling them too I guess.
