Yesterday at 2pm GMT was Warhammer Summer Skirmish Preview, here lots of amazing forthcoming boxed game releases were previewed. of course with my main interest being necromunda and now i guess Necromunda Ash Waste I was excited to see what would be shown. I wasn't disappointed, what was shown was the new light vehicle for House Goliath. The Mauler. A big hefty motorbike, which seems to come in two options. The main chassis being the same with the difference being the front "wheel". The first version has huge grinder mechanism as the front wheel where as the second version has a more traditional wheel and tire combination. there seems to be at least two different head and weapon variations too.
The first version has a heavy bolter mounted to the left hand side of the the handle bars and the rider has a high metal mohican. Whereas the second variant has a Grenade Launcher attached to left hand side of the handle bars and the rider has chains as his head decoration. So it looks like one of a minimum four different variants of the Mauler can be made from the parts in included in the box (they may also be sold in pairs of course) , and I can just imagine a group of four of these riders and their hefty machines riding down a Gulder's Charge-8 Ridgehauler like road pirates. My imagination is now running wild to what will be released for the other core gangs. I'm guessing a light vehicle for House Escher will be next the next preview. Can't wait.
Also more Necromunda News, the Vartijan Exo-Driller miniature will be available for preorder from Forge World next Saturday. I will definitely be picking up one of these models to add to my new Ironhead Prospectors collection. Though like all the Ash Wastes releases I will need to decide what sort of base i will use for it, an Ash Waste textured base or one of the original plastic Underhive bases.
