Sector 2 - Cloud Buster

Something a little different for my blog update today. i recently purchased the Sector 2 - Cloud Buster piece of MDF terrain by TT Combat. Sure I have a ton of Games Workshop plastic terrain from their Sector Mechanicus, Sector Mortalis and the new Ash Waste ranges, but this kit caught my eye as it was a significant centre piece at a very reasonable price. Sure it was MDF, but I'm sure once it was given a resolvable paint job it would look pretty cool on the tabletop. I would hate to think what the equivalent cost would be to attempt to build this from GW kits, it would be eye watering!! It will certainly be an ambitious build and an arduous one too as the kit contains 24 sheets of MDF hundreds of components, each will need to be detached from the frame as they are not completely cut through and then sanded before assembly. The plan is to also add more detail to the model using plasticard, resin rivets and other miscellaneous details.

The sheer dimensions of this model are impressive with an overall height of 679mm from base to top at it's highest point and will give amazing verticality to the tabletop and give me a great opportunity to create some interesting and fun scenarios specifically based around it. I would hate for one of my gangers to fall from the top to the ground, splat! The kit is compressed of three main sections and these section could be used individual or grouped together to create the Cloud Buster. Watch out for updates and WIP images from the build if you are interested to see more as I build and paint it over the coming weeks. I guess the only problem with this model is, once it is completed, where will I store it as it will be quite a bulky piece of terrain
