While I was in London I visited Forbidden Planet as I would normally do on every trip into the capital. While I was there looking around I saw an copy of issue 35 of the Imperium part work. Included with the issue was the Tech-Priest Enginseer miniature from Astra Militarum. Of course I picked up a copy as the cover price for the magazine was £8.99 opposed to the cost of the miniature on the Games Workshop website of £21, so it was a bargain. I built the Tech-Priest miniature the very next day and then primed him with the next batch of miniature to be sprayed. As I liked the miniature it wasn't long until it was on the paint desk. I painted all the metal parts Leadbelcher, which is fine but I discovered later that it should have been Runelord Brass, but as the minature won't be used in Warhammer 40K at all it didn't really matter. I purchased the miniature to use in Inquisitor28, so it was mounted on a Necromunda base. This also would give me the opportunity to use the Tech-Priest in a Venator gang too which could be fun. The miniature has some fragile parts to it, in particular the servo skull, which actually snapped off during painting. I glued it back together with super glue and to add strength, once the super glue had dried I brushed the join with s little Tamiya Extra Thin cement in the hope to "weld" the two pieces together. The varnishing process also strengthen the breakage and I hope now that it is strong enough to withstand the vigours of gentle tabletop gaming. Once again I was happy with how the miniature turned out and really enjoyed painting it. At the beginning I thought it was going to be a relatively quick and easy miniature to paint but quickly discovered this wasn't going to be the case because of all the little details. Actually he can also be used as a Special Operative for the Astra Miliatarum in Shadow War Armageddon too.
